Police Arrests Three INEC Officers For Creating Illegal PVC Registration Unit In Church Hall In Lagos

Police apprehend three INEC officers for creating illegal PVC registration unit in church hall In Lagos

Officers of the Ijeshatedo police station have apprehended three Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) staff for conspiring with a parish priest of St Brigigs Catholic Church, Ijeshatedo, Lagos, to create an illegal permanent voter’s card registration unit in the church auditorium for members.

The INEC staff including Mrs Rita, Mr Ikechukwu Izuchukwu and Miss Agbokhna Ebigun, were arrested following a complaint by the Chairman, Residents Association, Raji Azeem, to the police about ploys by the church to disenfranchise some members of the public.

According to Azeem, residents have waited to no avail at the INEC recognised registration centre only to discover that electoral officers have been camped at Catholic Church hall attending to members of the church.

He said, “The INEC registration officers, according to INEC provision should be stationed at 9A, Imam Thanni but this was not to be. We have been here awaiting their arrival but when we discovered that they were not forthcoming, we were worried.

Only for us to discover that they have been camped at the St Brigigs Catholic Church auditorium on the influence of the parish priest registering only members of the church while we were in the queue waiting. It was a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise us.

The House 9A Imam Thanni registration centre has remained a constant polling unit since 1983. But the priest decided to play the religious cards by inducing the electoral officers to register only his church members.

The church members have been around since 5 am but we were unaware of their plan until we busted them in action and handed them over to the police at the Ijeshatedo police station. The arrested INEC officers have been crying and begging for their misdeeds.

But they were granted bail by the IPO, Inspector Shola so that they can continue with the registration. He instructed them to return after the exercise and that they should discontinue the exercise at the church hall and move to the venue approved by INEC.”

Another resident, Omolabake Ishola, said the news that political thugs invaded the venue of the registration exercise is false.
According to her, the media platforms are deliberately distorting the truth of the matter.

According to her, “There were no thugs at the registering venue contrary to what is being reported by some media houses. The fact of the matter is that the INEC officers have been compromised and they decided to register only members of the Catholic Church while other residents were left out.

We have been around since 8 am only to discover that INEC officers are at the church hall registering church members. This isn’t fair enough. From what we heard, the Parishioner had announced that he had made arrangements for the electoral officers to come to the church hall to register all members. But we should ask ourselves, is there a registration centre at the church hall? We have to be truthful with ourselves.”

Confirming the arrest of the three INEC staff, the Spokesman of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said they were found within the church premises registering members.

He said, “The INEC officials were assigned to Imam Thanni Street by House 9A for today’s exercise. They were, however, found within the church premises. Residents raised concerns and informed the police. The DPO Ijeshatedo swung into action and brought the INEC officials to the station.”

“We Didn’t Do Anything Wrong, But Somehow, We Lost” – Nokia CEO

Nokia CEO ended his speech saying this “we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”.

During the press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by Microsoft, Nokia CEO ended his speech saying this “we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”. Upon saying that, all his management team, himself included, teared sadly.

Nokia has been a respectable company. They didn’t do anything wrong in their business, however, the world changed too fast. Their opponents were too powerful.

They missed out on learning, they missed out on changing, and thus they lost the opportunity at hand to make it big. Not only did they miss the opportunity to earn big money, they lost their chance of survival.

The message of this story is, if you don’t change, you shall be removed from the competition.

It’s not wrong if you don’t want to learn new things. However, if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with time, you will be eliminated.

Conclusion:

  1. The advantage you have yesterday, will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow. You don’t have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors catch the wave and do it RIGHT, you can lose out and fail.

To change and improve yourself is giving yourself a second chance. To be forced by others to change, is like being discarded.
Those who refuse to learn & improve, will definitely one day become redundant & not relevant to the industry. They will learn the lesson in a hard & expensive way

The sum of N680.783 billion was shared in the preceding month of May and N656, 602 in April, Thisdaylive reports.

Daddy Freeze Mocks Pastor Adeboye Over His Failed Prophecy As Dollar Rises Above N700

Daddy Freeze Mocks Pastor Adeboye Over His Failed Prophecy As Dollar Rises To N710

Controversial Media personality, Daddy Freeze has taken a dig at foremost religious leader, Pastor E. A Adeboye, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Nigerians were left devasted and furious at the increase in dollars from 600plus to N710.

As many celebrities took to their social media pages to air their displeasure over the alarming increase in dollar rate, Daddy Freeze followed suit but in a different way.

The former Cool FM OAP shared an old tweet of the clergyman where he decreed that Naira will rise again.

On February 1st, 2016, Pastor Adeboye had taken to the micro-blogging platform to decree that the Naira will rise again.

He tweeted, “Either the IMF likes it or not I decree the Naira will rise again”.

Mockingly, Daddy Freeze noted how his decree was yet to manifest.

Sarcastically, Daddy Freeze stated that singer, Naira Marley will rise again only if he gets a new single.

“Naira Marley will definitely rise again…all he needs is a new single”.

This isn’t the first time Daddy Freeze is mocking a man of God.

Months back, Daddy Freeze made a mockery of the Senior Pastor of Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), Tunde Bakare for being unable to secure any votes at the APC convention.

The clergyman who participated in the race for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was left defeated as he scored zero votes.

His loss was announced after the sorting of balloting on Wednesday, June 8th after respective delegates had cast their votes.

Making a mockery of him, Daddy Freeze wondered how a pastor would use 100million to buy presidential form and yet couldn’t get a vote.

He questioned if true religion wasn’t our biggest problem.

“A pastor uses 100m to buy form and can’t get a vote and y’all say religion no he our problem?”.

Herbalists ‘Dupe’ Nigerian Politician Who Asked For ‘Spiritual’ Help

Herbalists ‘dupe’ Nigerian politician who asked for ‘spiritual’ help

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it arrested two herbalists who allegedly conspired to defraud an aspiring house of representatives member in Ekiti of N24 million.

According to a statement by Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesman, the anti-graft agency said Abiodun Ibrahim and Wale Adifala, the two self-acclaimed spiritualists, alongside Ifawole Ajibola (aka Baba Kalifa, an accomplice currently on the run), were arrested by operatives of the Lagos command of the commission on July 7 in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti capital.

It said the trio allegedly conspired to defraud an aspiring house of representatives member in Ekiti of the sum of N24,071,000 which they claimed was to be used to secure spiritual help for the victim’s political ambition.

According to the EFCC, under interrogation by operatives, Adifala admitted to collecting the sums of money from their victim, including N2.9 million, which he claimed was used to buy black, brown and white cows, rams, lavender perfume, and rings among other items to carry out sacrifices at different times.

“I also linked up on the matter with Ifawole Ajibola, and we continued with the sacrifices together, until we were arrested by EFCC,” he was quoted as saying.

The commission said Ibrahim, who had prior contact with the victim, admitted to collecting money at different times.

“Our own is just to pray and do the necessary sacrifices, which we did, and to leave the rest to God, however, along the line, the zoning for the reps seat was taken away from Oye-Ekiti to Ikole-Ekiti,” he reportedly said.

The EFCC said their arrest followed a petition alleging that after collecting the said sum, the whole efforts came to a dead end.

The agency said they were arrested along with some of their instruments of trade, and would soon be arraigned.

Tithing Isn’t Required Or Even Encouraged For Believers In Jesus Christ” – Televangelist Creflo Dollar Preaches Against Tithing

“Tithing Isn’t Required Or Even Encouraged For Believers In Jesus Christ” – Televangelist Creflo Dollar Preaches Against Tithing

American Televangelist, Creflo Solar has In two recent Sunday sermons preached against tithing based on fear and guilt. On July 3, Dollar told his congregation, “I would argue that tithing isn’t required or even encouraged for believers in Jesus Christ.”

Instead, Dollar is now preaching that Christian giving should be based on gratitude.

The preacher who is known for his extravagant lifestyle, made a surprising announcement in his June 26 sermon titled “The Great Misunderstanding” about how his beliefs on tithing changed.

“I want to start off by saying to you that I’m still growing and that the teachings I’ve shared in times past on the subject of tithing were not correct. And today, I stand in humility to correct some things I have taught for years and believed for years, but could never understand it clearly because I had not been confronted with the Gospel of grace, which has made the difference.

“I won’t apologize ’cause if it wasn’t for me going down that route, I would have never ended up where I am right now. But I will say that I have no shame at all saying to you, throw away every book, every tape and every video I did on the subject of tithing unless it lines up with this.”

While Dollar’s rejection of fear-based giving is welcome, a lot of questions remain, and Trinity Foundation investigators wonder if Dollar is simply changing his message to appeal to a larger audience.

Dollar owns two jets registered to a shell company named World Heir, a Gulfstream G-IV and Learjet 60.

Creflo and Taffi Dollar own two expensive homes very close to each other. According to real estate website Redfin the properties are worth about $5.7 million.

Preachers must do more than just preach accurately about money. They should live a godly lifestyle that doesn’t contradict Scripture.

Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Tinubu Only Desperate To Win Election, Doesn’t Care If Decision Was Right Or Wrong – Ruling APC Chieftain

Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Tinubu Only Desperate To Win Election, Doesn’t Care If Decision Was Right Or Wrong – Ruling APC Chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) In Adamawa State, Vrati Nzonzo, has added his voice in rejecting the party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

Nzonzo lambasted the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, for undermining the interest of Christians in northern Nigeria.
He said the decision to adopt a fellow Muslim as a running mate by the presidential candidate of the APC, Tinubu may have grave consequences for the party, amongst northern Christians.

In an interview with journalists, Nzonzo, who is also vying for a seat in the National Assembly, vehemently condemned Shettima’s selection as a fellow Muslim, as it amounted to insulting the sensibilities of Christians in Nigeria.

He said, “Let me be as blunt as I can be; I’ll not hesitate to show my displeasure over the decision of my party, the APC, to make our presidential ticket a religious affair.

“Making it a Muslim-Muslim affair has brought to the fore the issue of religion in our politics in Nigeria. Tinubu has through his scheming for the ticket promised to pick a northern Muslim as running mate. He openly said he needs to bring a Muslim VP from the North to win.

“So, ‘ab initio’, he did not paint the picture of competence as he would later want us to believe; he painted the picture of religion. The governor of Kano (Abdullahi Ganduje) was heard saying before it happened that Tinubu has promised to give them a Muslim VP from the North. Several other notable names have been corroborated.”

“Does it mean Tinubu is not Muslim enough; are we having two types of Muslims or what is the issue?” Nzonzo probed.

He maintained that the controversial ticket was capable of truncating the party’s chances in the North.

I don’t kidnap, I only kill People – Zamfara Terrorists ‘Chief’, Ado Aleru

I don’t kidnap, I only k!ll people – Zamfara terrorist ‘chief’, Ado Aleru

Notorious banditry kingpin, Ada Aleru, who was recently named the Sarkin Fulani Yandoton Daji Emirate (the head of the Fulani in Yandoton Daji) in a chilling confession, said he does not kidnap people but k!lls them.

The coronation of Mr Aleru, who is the leading terrorist in Tsafe and Faskari axis of Zamfara and Katsina states, generated public outcry across the country.

The state government, subsequently, suspended the Emir of the town, Aliyu Marafa, who conferred the title on Mr Aleru, who is wanted in neighbouring Katsina State for mass killings.

The Katsina government placed a bounty of N5 million on information leading to the arrest of Mr Aleru, who is accused of k!lling 52 people in Kadisau, a community in Faskari Local Government in 2019.

In his first and only known interview with the media, Mr Aleru told the BBC that he is angry with Hausas and the Nigerian government.

In a documentary titled “The Bandit Warlords of Zamfara” billed to be aired 25 July 2022, Mr Aleru said while his men kidnap people, he is only interested in killing people.

“My men do that; I just go and k!ll them (people),” Mr Aleru said.

An unnamed associate of Mr Aleru told the BBC Africa Eye team that “the Fulani are systematically excluded from government jobs and other economic opportunities, and that the Nigerian air force attacks innocent Fulani herders and k!lls their cattle.

“How have the Fulani become so worthless in Nigeria?” he asks.” He lamented that the grazing routes the Fulani relied on upon have been closed off while land and water have become very scarce.

The BBC also interviewed the terrorists who abducted pupils from the Government Girls Secondary School in Jangebe, Talata Mafara local government area of Zamfara State.

While the state government insisted that no ransom was paid, the unnamed bandit said they were paying N60 million before they released the pupils.

When asked what they did with the money, he said, “We bought more rifles.”.
