Destroying Age OldMyths About The Yoruba By Reno Omokri

There are many myths circulated by various ethnic nationalities about the Yoruba people of the Southwest, and a personal experience with a non-Yoruba provoked me to address some of these myths using historical facts. Please bear with me, this is a long read.

Myth one: Yorubas are betrayers

A lot of this angst, which has refused to fade away decades after the dramatis personae exited this world, is centred around a supposed betrayal of Emeka Ojukwu and the Igbos by the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

And sadly, this has now become an emotive issue, where fiction has been fed to many young people as fact.

The truth is that Chief Awolowo went on a peace meeting to Enugu, to try to persuade Igbo leaders to adopt a peaceful way out of the crisis that had unfolded in Nigeria after the January 15, 1966 coup and the July 29, 1966 counter coup.

Awolowo met with the leaders of the Eastern Region for two days between May 6-7, 1967. THERE IS A TRANSCRIPT OF THAT MEETING, WHICH WAS PUBLISHED WHEN BOTH AWOLOWO AND OJUKWU WERE ALIVE.

Please note that this transcript was taken from a tape recorded by then Colonel Ojukwu’s own recorder.

I encourage those who are still bitterly accusing Chief Awolowo, and by extension all Yorubas, of betrayal, to please read that transcript.

At the time Emeka Ojukwu wanted Chief Awolowo to follow his lead by announcing the secession of the Western Region after his own declaration of secession of the Southeast, there were tens of thousands of armed Northern troops all over the West. It does not take a genius to guess what would have happened if Awolowo had gone that route.

Moreover, unlike Ojukwu, Chief Awolowo had no control over any troops. He was also not the Governor of the Western Region (Adeyinka Adebayo was then the military Governor). As a result, he had no executive powers. Whatever powers he had were at best residual and persuasive.

Chief Awolowo had earlier called a meeting of Yoruba officers of the Nigerian army, and key officers of Yoruba stock refused to attend, with one of them sending a message to him that he was a Nigerian soldier, not a Yoruba soldier.

So given all of that, it was rather naive for anybody to have expected him to declare the secession of the Western Region from Nigeria.

It would have been like expecting Nnamdi Azikiwe to usurp Ojukwu’s powers as Governor of the Eastern Region, and announce the secession of Eastern Nigeria, and the creation of a new Biafran nation. The Ojukwu we know may have even arrested, and probably executed Zik if he had done that.

If the grudge against Chief Awolowo is founded on the £20 pounds payment to persons of Igbo origin, then I can understand it. But even that grudge is also not well founded. Because the £20 policy only affected those whose bank records could not be verified. I hazard a guess that if another person other than Awolowo was on that seat, the payment may have been £0.

But to hold a grudge against the Yorubas stemming from that Enugu meeting is in my view an injustice to a man who only went there to seek a way to avoid bloodletting.

In any case, have those who hold this view ever considered that the man, Emeka Ojukwu, for whom they hold this torch, after his return to Nigeria on May 18, 1982, joined the National Party of Nigeria, the very same party that was peopled, sponsored and supported by the very same people who prosecuted the Nigerian Civil War against him and Eastern Nigeria?

The NPN was a Northern Party that did not win a single state in Western, Midwestern (Bendel) and the Igbo states of Eastern Nigeria. The same people who founded the NPN were the very same people who advised and perhaps tele-guided Gowon.

In fact, the first National Leader of the NPN was Makaman Bida, a former member of the inner caucus of Ahmadu Bello’s Northern Peoples Congress.

This is the party that Ojukwu joined, contested for election into the Senate (and lost), and campaigned for during the 1983 Presidential election.

Taking all of this into consideration, there is no way the myth of Chief Awolowo, and all Yorubas being betrayers, can stand.

Myth two: Yorubas Are Cowards

The late Sani Abacha was the most brutal dictator in Nigeria’s history. I do not need to elaborate. His rule was a dark era in our history, and the nationwide spontaneous celebration of his death is enough shame on his memory and his family and survivors.

Having said that, Nigerians may want to recall that a certain Moshood Kashimawo Abiola stood up to the bully that was Abacha, and rightfully declared himself President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on June 11, 1994.

That took guts! That was not the act of a coward. It was a display of bravery.

Chief Abiola was arrested on June 23, 1994, and taken to Abuja. While there, he met with General Abacha, and told Abacha to his face that he was Abacha’s boss and Abacha should show him respect. That is more than guts. That is what is called Command Presence in the military. Audacity if you will.

On August 5, 1994, Chief Abiola was offered freedom, via a bail, with certain conditions, including that he “stay away from politics”. Abiola’s response was terse. It was given by his wife, Kudirat Abiola, who said “Chief Abiola is not interested.”

That is bravery to the point of self sacrifice. Bear in mind that this was a multimillionaire in US dollars, with access to private jets, and all the modern conveniences money could buy, yet he inconvenienced himself by refusing to betray his mandate.

And after Abacha died (I never call him General. It is an insult to call the world’s biggest political thief, who is still coughing up billions 23 years after his death, a General of the Nigerian Army), Chief Abiola refused to give up his mandate, and probably died because of his principled stand.

It is therefore ridiculous for anybody to call an ethnic nationality that produced such a personality cowards.

And this is not a recent phenomenon. Whereas the Fulani jihadist army completely defeated the Hausas, they could not defeat the Yorubas. A Yoruba regiment from present day Ibadan, and led by Balogun Oderinlo, routed the Fulani army and drove them out of Oshogbo in 1840, and eventually from Yoruba land. In the process, they captured four Fulani Generals.

The popular case of Ilorin was not a military defeat, it was a case of over ambition by a rogue Yoruba, Afonja. And it was isolated to the Ilorin area. I just hope history will not repeat itself in Lagos.

During the Nigerian Civil War, Murtala Mohammed was an unmitigated military disaster. The Biafrans defeated him soundly at Abagana and almost captured him. If not for the Yoruba led Third Marine Commando, Nigeria would not have defeated Biafra at the time she did.

In the history of Nigeria, only two men have returned to Nigeria to face almost certain death even when they had the option of a very comfortable political asylum abroad. Both of them are Yoruba. In 1985, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida toppled the Buhari regime while Major General Tunde Idiagbon (mixed Yoruba/Fulani) was at Mecca yet Idiagbon returned.

In 1995, Olusegun Obasanjo (pure Owu Yoruba) was accused of planning a coup by the blood thirsty tyrant, Abacha (if you do not like that truthful description of Abacha or if you believe that ‘Abacha did not loot’, you can go and join him where he is) while he was away in Copenhagen.

He was informed by the then US Ambassador, Walter Carrington, that Abacha meant to arrest, try and execute him, and was offered political asylum in the United States.

He returned to face almost certain death.

What more example of bravery can there be than these two shining ones.

Furthermore, there is the apocryphal example of Colonel Francis Adekunle Fajuyi who chose to die with the then Head of State, Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, rather than abandon his guest, which he was at liberty to do.

The Yoruba are a very tactful and diplomatic people. These are attributes that some people mistake for cowardice, or sycophancy. They are a people who understand how to stoop to conquer.

This is what Scripture meant in 2 Corinthians 10:4 “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty”. Wisdom, courtesy, diplomacy, and praise are all weapons. A weapon is anything you can use to achieve your strategic objective. It does not always have to be a physically offensive weapon.

Myth three: The Yoruba are Clannish, They Form Cliques Against Non Yoruba

The most metropolitan place in Nigeria is the Southwest. The reason being that no other ethnicity is as religiously tolerant and ethnically accommodating as the Yoruba.

And I am very glad that by sheer coincidence, former President Jonathan said as much last week. I had nothing to do with him saying it.

The most prosperous place for an Igbo man in Nigeria is not Nnewi or Onitsa. According to Robert Neuwirth, an American journalists and investigator, Igbos make $4 billion each year from Alaba International Market. There is nowhere else in Nigeria where they generate such a high turnover.

The richest Black man on planet Earth is Aliko Dangote, and his wealth largely comes from Lagos and the Southwest, where he has assets in excess of $4 billion.

The fact that other Nigerians can come to the Southwest and prosper there more than they prospered in their home regions speaks volumes of the accommodativeness of the Yoruba.

How many Igbo Alaba traders have been kidnapped, abducted or killed? But they are kidnapped, abducted and killed in the Southeast.

Terrorists, bandits and Boko Haram have never targeted Aliko Dangote in the Southwest. But in the North, both billionaire and almajiri are vulnerable.

People erroneously think that the Yoruba are clannish, because they maintain and retain their cultural values, when it clashes with other cultures.

So, in an office environment, a Yoruba person is likely to clique with Yoruba speakers. Notice I did not say they are likely to clique with Yorubas. I said they are likely to clique with Yoruba speakers. It is their culture they like. If you flow with their culture, they will also flow with you.

That is why the Yoruba have the highest number of elected non indigenes representing their states, than any other region.

There are natives of the Southeast and South South who won election to represent various Lagos constituencies in the House of Representatives. Oghene Egoh, Rita Orji and Tony Nwoolu are some of them.

Where else is that happening in Nigeria?

Yoruba-phobes should try to understand that the tendency of the Yoruba to retain their full culture within Nigeria and when they travel abroad is not clannishness. It is in their blood.

How do I know this? Because I am an avid traveler.

During the Transatlantic Slave Trade, slaves where taken from almost every Black African ethnic group. However, only the Yoruba slaves retained their culture on a large scale throughout the Americas (the Umbundo also retained some of their culture, but they are limited to Brazil).

In the Brazilian state of Bahia, they speak a patois of Portuguese and Yoruba. The state is 80% Black and they bare Yoruba names. As a matter of fact, after Nigeria, Brazil has the second largest population of people of Yoruba descent. Please fact check me. I deal in facts, not speculation.

In Latin America and the Caribbean, there are an estimated 50 million believers in the Santeria religion. It may shock you to note that Santeria is based on Yoruba traditional worship. In fact, the name for god in Santeria is Orisha, a Yoruba word. Eshu, Sango, and Ifa feature prominently in Santeria.

So, you can see how deep Yoruba culture is, to the extent that even centuries of slavery could not wipe it away.

Go to Jamaica and there are Yorubas there.

There were Hausa, Swahili, Bantu, Oromo, Igbo and other Black African slaves taken to the Americas. None have kept their cultural identity like the Yoruba slaves.

Listen to Rap music and compare it to Fuji and Juju. You notice the same trend. Boasting, women shaking their booties, rivals dissing their opponents. Before Tupac and Biggie dissed each other, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister and Ayinla Kollington had released their own diss tracks.

When you visit London, you may be confused if you think Yoruba is the only African language in existence.

A Yoruba man can enter a quiet bus and receive a phone call and speak in Yoruba, and won’t feel embarrassed. And I am not referring to a Johnny Just Come. I am referring to second generation Yorubas who were born and brought up in England,

I have been traveling the world from childhood, yet I have not encountered people doing that with much wider spoken African languages, such as Swahili and Hausa.

They may speak it privately in their homes abroad. but not publicly, and even if they do, it is not to the extent of the Yoruba.

It has gotten to the extent that the Metropolitan Police now recruit Yoruba speaking Constables, and Harrods now employ Yoruba speaking cashiers. Oh please do not just take my words at face value. Fact check me.

Go to Houston on a Sunday, you will see Yoruba people everywhere in their native wears, adire, plus abeti aja and eleti aja.

Here in California, other Africans now draw crowd to their parties by saying ‘the Nigerians will be there.’

This will annoy other tribes, including mine, however, when foreigners talk about how cool Nigerians are, they are usually referring to Yorubas.

Take it or leave it, but the Yoruba are the most progressive Black people on the face of planet Earth.

They produced the first Black African Nobel laureate for an academic category (Wole Soyinka), and the first Black African military ruler to have voluntarily handed over to a civilian President (Olusegun Obasanjo), and the first Nigerian to win a Grammy Award (Sade Adu) as well as the first person born and bred in Africa to have won a Pulitzer Prize (Dele Olojede).

The reason why Yorubas are the biggest music stars of Nigerian origin is because they are unabashedly Yoruba. They do not try to sing or act like Westerners. They are very in-your-face with their Yoruba-ness. And when people like themselves to such a high degree, others tend to join them in liking them.

There are an estimated 15 Black billionaires on Planet Earth. Three of them are Yoruba. More than any ethnic nationality in Africa. It used to be four, but one of them slipped down the rankings.

US President, Joe Biden, named a Yoruba man, Adewale Adeyemo, as deputy Treasury Secretary. This is the highest position to which a Black African has been appointed (not elected) in US history. Another Yoruba man, Dr. Oluyinka Olutoye, became the first person on Earth to successfully perform a surgery by taking out an unborn fetus from its mother’s womb and putting it back after the surgery.

77% of all Black doctors in America are of either African or Caribbean origin, and a very large percentage of these are Yoruba.

I commend the Edekiri people (the real name of the Yoruba). They are neither betrayers, or cowards or clannish people. They are omoluabi. They are oni te si iwaju.

THE AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS (AAC) CONDEMNS THE KILLING OF A YOUNG FEMALE TRADER AT OJOTA BY THE POLICE, DURING VIOLENT DISRUPTION OF YORUBA NATION RALLY.

DEMANDS IMMEDIATE ARREST AND PROSECUTION OF ERRING OFFICERS.

DESCRIBES THE SHOW AND USE OF FORCE ON YORUBA NATION AGITATORS BY THE HAKEEM ODUMOSU-LED POLICE COMMAND AS UNNECESSARY, UNDEMOCRATIC, INSANE AND A COMPLETE WASTE OF RESOURCES.

The Muhammadu Buhari regime has led Nigeria into a full blown dictatorship as it has become unfortunately excruciating to keep condemning its attacks on Nigerians on a daily basis.
The sorrow, tears and blood government has become emboldened in its fascist tendencies with the recent events that have played out in the last one week- the abduction of Nnamdi Kanu, nocturnal attack on Sunday Igboho’s residence and the extrajudicial killings that happened there.

Today, it is unfortunate that we are penning another condemnation of violent repression of agitators, that has resulted in the killing of a 14-year old female trader by stray live bullets shot by officers led by the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.
If people could be treated with such violence as witnessed today in broad daylight, we can only imagine the level of wanton atrocities the regime commits at dusk. LekkiTollGate Massacre comes to mind.
We call for the immediate arrest and prosecution of all the officers involved in the violent repression and eventual killing.

We describe the “show of force” by the Police as very cruel, undemocratic and a complete waste of both man-hours and taxpayers’ money that could have been used to combat crimes that are on exponential rise in the State.

The level of force seen today at the protest venue would be appreciated in the prevention of crime and in attending to distress calls by residents of Lagos. Less than 10 kilometers from the protest venue is Somolu; a suburb that has become a hotbed of daylight and nighttime robberies. The show of force has not been taken there.

From Kaduna to Abuja, Ibadan and Lagos, just in the space of a week, over 10 protesting Nigerians have been killed with scores left with varying levels of injuries by security agents under the command of Buhari.
The unpopular regime must immediately desist from the use of brute force in addressing rightful discontentment of Nigerians.

The AAC calls for the unity of all oppressed as we forge ahead in the struggle for liberation.

Spiritual healing: Randy prophet bags life imprisonment for barren woman’s death

An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti on Thursday sentenced a cleric, Prophet Olakanye Oni, to life imprisonment over the circumstances that led to the death of a woman who came to him for spiritual healing.

The prosecution team led by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Ministry of Justice, Ekiti State, Mr Julius Ajibare, said that “the prophet, sometimes in March 2017, invited one Omowale Gbadamosi from Lagos to Ado Ekiti on the pretence that he (the cleric) had solution to her barrenness.

“On getting to his church at Palace of Mercy, Mathew Street, Odo Ado Area, Ado Ekiti, he collected a sum of N52,000 from the victim. He hypnotised the victim and lured her into his room. He, thereafter, spread a white cloth on her and raped her.

“The convict used white handkerchief to clean the victim’s private part and inserted a substance believed to be potash into her vagina. The victim’s vagina got decayed as a result of the substance inserted into it by the cleric and this resulted into the victim’s eventual death.”

The prosecution called six witnesses to prove the case, while the defence counsel, Chris Omokhafe, called the convict and one other person as witnesses.

In the judgment, Justice Abiodun Adesodun sentenced the cleric to life imprisonment for manslaughter.

DSS Arrests Big Cat Believed To Be Sunday Igboho

DSS have arrested a big cat believed to be Sunday Igboho.
It was reported earlier that the house of Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, located at Soka area of Ibadan in Oyo state, southwest Nigeria, was attacked around 1am on Thursday, July 1.
This online news platform understands that some of those working with Sunday Igboho, have narrated how gunmen in military uniform allegedly attacked the residence of the Yoruba rights activist.

The attack in its wake, saw the destruction of at least 10 vehicles belonging to the self-styled activist, including his G-wagon, Prado SUVs, and valuable properties, furniture, and windows. It was gathered that Bullet holes were also found on the buildings in the compound while bloodstains were seen on the premises by our correspondent.
Speaking to SaharaReporters, an aide to the Ighoho who said he witnessed the incident said the attackers took away jewellery and a huge amount of cash belonging to the Yoruba activist and his family.
“Around 1am, we started hearing gunshots, there was pandemonium everywhere. Then we saw soldiers, they were dressed as if they were going for a battle. Before we knew what was happening, they started targeting places where people sleep in the house.

“It was God that saved me and others, they came prepared. Only God knows how they identified Igboho’s room, they went there, took his money and jewellery. Same as that of his wife and other family members.

“They even took away his cat when they didn’t see him. They claimed it might be Ighoho that turned to the cat, so they took it away.

“They shot at the cars and riddled the glasses and doors with bullets.”

Quoting report by SaharaReporters, PeakNews understands that witnesses said that the operatives also killed some of the small cats found in the house while the big one was arrested.
Another person who preferred to be anonymous said: “They came around 1:30 am and started shooting. They scaled the fence and started shooting at everybody and everything they saw.

“Chief was around but the way he escaped surprised everybody. An insider must have given them information about the house and its occupants.

“They were asking for each person by name and they killed five and took away their corpses. They also whisked a lady away and wives of Igboho’s aides who live in the house.

“Those who came are soldiers and Department of State Services (DSS) operatives.

“They even killed some small cats and arrested a bigger cat, believing Igboho might have turned to the cat,”he added

The BURNING FLAME by Chidinma Olise-meke

I am stuck in a burning flame,a flame of loneliness which I got used to,a flame of inferiority.

Each seconds that passes by the flame increases. When my emotions go haywire the flame increases.

I got used to and felt comfortable in it cos it felt like home. It blocked my sight to seeing the misdeeds of everyone around me,it blocked my feelings that I felt numb cos I got used to the pain from the burning flame.

I couldn’t cry neither could I feel the hurt.it became my shield shielding me from the world, from the atrocities men committed. But while in the flame I quested for freedom I quested for a cold hands.

As if my wish was granted he came stretching his hand to me, he was exactly what I needed. He was going to bring peace to my burning heart. The look in his eyes spoke love and calmness.

He assured me he was going to be there.
He was mine to hold, mine to love and mine to live for. He gave me the hope of a better tomorrow.

With him I felt true love and calmness. But then I told him I was a burning flame he didn’t say a word but rather stretched his hand towards me….then and only then did I know I have found my ICE the ICE which I longed for.

25-year-old arrested for extorting N7m over threat on woman’s nude photos

Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested 25-year-old Adetoro Kazeem for the alleged blackmail and extortion of a woman to the tune of N7m.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

Oyeyemi said the suspect, a resident of Paara Street, in the Alakia area of Ibadan, Oyo State, was arrested following a report by the complainant, Gloria Ogunnupebi.

He said the woman told the police at the Obalende divisional headquarters, Ijebu-Ode, that she received a message from a strange foreign number via a voice note on her WhatsApp, demanding N200,000 or he would upload her nude pictures on social media.

According to her, she sent the said amount to the suspect in order to prevent the caller from exposing her to public ridicule.

She further told the police that the suspect continued to make more financial demands, thereby extorting her to the tune of N7,363,900.

The complainant added that she decided to report when she got tired of the continuous extortion and started contemplating suicide.

Oyeyemi said following the report, the Obalende Divisional Police Officer, SP Salami Murphy, mobilised his crack detectives to go after the suspect.

The PPRO said, “The detectives embarked on intelligence and technical based investigation, and they successfully traced the suspect to his hideout in Ibadan, Oyo State, where he was apprehended.

“On interrogation, the suspect, who confessed to the crime, informed investigators that he had many OPAY accounts with different names through which he received money from his victims.”

Oyeyemi quoted the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, to have applauded the detectives for ‘a well done job.’

He added that the CP ordered an in-depth investigation into the past activities of the suspect with a view to charging him to court as soon as possible.

Lagos State University student bags 21 years imprisonment for raping fellow students

An Ikeja Special Offences Court on Tuesday sentenced a student of Lagos State University (LASU), Afeez Ogunbowale, to 21 years’ imprisonment for involvement in armed robbery and rape of two fellow LASU students.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo sentenced Ogunbowale after finding him guilty of five counts bordering on conspiracy, rape and armed robbery.

Taiwo said that prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.

She held that testimony of the victims were compelling, adding that they were able to positively identify Ogunbowale as one of the culprits.

“The defendant is hereby sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for conspiracy, 21 years’ imprisonment each for counts of armed robbery and 21 years’ imprisonment each for counts of rape.

“The sentences are to run concurrently,” she said.

On hearing the sentence, Ogunbowale who has been suspended by LASU over the case, wept profusely at the dock.

NAN reports that prosecution team led by Mrs O.A Bajulaiye-Bishi, had said that the defendant committed the offences alongside others who are at large, on April 18, 2018, at the Okokomaiko area of Lagos.

“The defendant and his accomplices, while armed with a gun, knife, machete and bottle, robbed the two students in their off campus accommodation.

The complainants testified that when they confronted the convict at a police station, he prostrated and begged for forgiveness.

In his defence on Sept. 30, 2020, the convict denied involvement in the crime and gave an alibi to the court.

Led in evidence by defence counsel, Mr Bisi Salau, he said that on the night the offences were committed, he was in the school premises preparing for an examination which was to begin in May 2018.

Kenyan pastor, Reverend Lucy Natasha debunks allegations of arranging threesome for a Nigerian Evangelist

Flamboyant Kenyan preacher, Reverend Lucy Natasha, has debunked allegations that she allegedly arranged a threesome session for a Nigerian Evangelist with her aide and a female member of her church in 2015.

This comes after the now former church member who goes by the Facebook, Martha Mwihaki Hinga, on Tuesday, June 29, claimed that Rev. Natasha invited her for dinner together with the Nigerian Evangelist.

According to Mwihaki, Rev. Natasha and her mother and the brother left leaving her with her aide and the Nigerian guest preacher.

“Within 20 minutes I realized that Lucy had left together with her brother and mom, and I in the company of the pastor and the aide were left, little did I know that the girl was part of the script for a Threesome. Hahaha, yes I said a threesome,” the woman claimed.

She further claimed that the Nigerian preacher asked them to pray together but instead both allegedly sandwiched her.

The allegations soon went viral on social media prompting the clergywoman to issue a statement on Wednesday, June 30.

The statement posted on her social media pages by her communition team said the allegations are malicious plans aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Empowerment Christian Church leader.

“As a ministry that is very active in preaching through various social media platforms, we seek to unequivocally dissociate ourselves with a malicious story tarnishing the reputation of our leader Rev Natasha and the ministry we are doing,” the statement read.

“We began our Miracle Monday Services in October 2017 and the same has been publicly broadcasted on our official handles. In the greatest words, the story and expose going round is totally false, unfounded, and out there to disparage our mandate.

“It’s worth noting that the said Martha Mwihaki Hinga is a Pseudo account that has now deactivated; she and/or her cohort has never been part of us. We wish to categorically state that we are a ministry committed to maintaining Biblical standards both in Theology and Practice. We are above board and deal with all attendees, members, public with utmost respect and integrity.

“Our church Empowerment Christian Church ECC remains a beacon of hope, an oasis of God’s love, and a sanctuary of worship, prayer and the Bible.

“To all the friends of ECC, Sons and daughters across the nations, partners, Natasha Hands of Compassion Team members continue keeping us, the Oracle in prayers as we continue shining the banner of God’s love to all. 2 Timothy 3:12 “And all who live a godly life in Jesus Christ shall suffer persecution.”

Head of Communication for Rev Natasha Ministries.

Below are details of the expose:

PART ONE
I met Reverend Lucy Natasha after a friend of mine introduced me to her church in early 2014, just about when she officially began to house most of her services, mid-week and Sunday Services at Six-Eighty Hotel.

I used to see her on social media but that was it, nothing much, apart from her usual contextualization of prosperity gospel to excite her fanatic congregation, because those are usually not Christians in pursuit of the true gospel.

Just like Now, she still had a palatial state of the art office setting marked with weird arts, Portraits of popular Nigerian Televangelists, I remember that of the Late TB Joshua, a 6-inch red carpet and very fine men frequenting her office, I later learnt that they were her protocol and handlers. I was a little bit shocked because I am not a big fan of Nigerian pastors, I actually don’t trust them. My friend who took me there was constantly gazing at me because I appeared skeptical over everything, especially the portrait of a known controversial pastor TB.

She loves calling people daughter, so she stretched her hand and reached out to me, “Good afternoon my beautiful daughter, Of course my age not withstanding I agreed and responded. I am way older than her, I dubiously smiled and responded “Good afternoon my spiritual mom, although physically I may be your mom. “She has a very good voice, so she smiled and the exchange of pleasantries was done.

I partly introduced myself and expressed part of the reason why I was there, I however, insisted that it is my friend who persuaded me to see her because she felt that I would fit into her ministry as a deacon taking into account my passion for God’s work and at the time I needed a place to worship and initiate my ministry work. She looked elated and clumsily said that I was at the best place.

Now, there’s this brother of him, who has some slippery hair, that guy was then the P.A. She called him and in he came with a 3-page form for registration. I was then requested to follow Rev in a small private extension for sort of some grilling or up-close, a very small extension that could only fit two persons. She asked me to get off my shoes and enter. I think that was now the beginning of my indoctrination to a “cult”.

I started filling details on the sheet she handed to me. I was putting on my details as I popped my eyes on and off to her just to monitor things. My friends mimi hata mwanaume hajaniangalia na macho nikablush. The gaze was very very veeery suggestive, Well I ignored because I assumed that was her nature, well she’s pretty and that’s not a far-fetched habit by beautiful girls. I filled the form while still throwing my eyes randomly on her, to signal either I needed to consult on something but that was in guise of trying to angalia vile kunaenda.

Suddenly, I felt something chilling down my body. Have you felt cold, then a petrifying thing runs down your spine? That is what I felt and the next thing was Rev asking me to get close to her for prayer. I actually hadn’t completed the form, but I was on my feet moving towards Lucy after that wave on my body. I then immediately closed my eyes and opened them, Alas the person next to me was not her, this was her mother (You know how close they are with the mother), Reverend was not there. I have NEVER ever seen that.

I remember trying to scream but the voice wouldn’t be audible, you have tried to scream in your dreams and the only thing that comes out is a distant feeling of shouting but the actual shout not being projected, that was it. The person now next to me (the mother) started speaking in weird voices asking me to “Tulia Tulia,Kuna Roho anasema wewe ni mtumishi”As she was saying that, weirdly I was being caressed and fondled by someone I couldn’t see. The feeling was so strong that I actually started getting too close to the mom praying for me. For now handle that I will be back.

PART TWO
That was weird because in my entire years of allegiance to Christ I have never felt that. I have never seen that. Let’s just say the feeling was way too ungodly as a happenstance between a prayer session. When I partially began to realize I was in between something not so nice, I began to battle out the grip with aggression. I tried pulling myself away from her until she could no longer control me.

I finally was off the hook but totally scared. Rev was then back and we were now the three of us, myself Lucy and her mother. There were only two seats, so Rev was on her feet with an iPad. Things were now a little bit calm and I was at ease though overwhelmed by events. I think they managed to capture my inner person and my spiritual responsiveness as afterwards I no longer treated them with hostility. She then introduced what was typed on the Tablet as a “Report” from the Lord concerning me on her ministry.

I remember her telling me that the Lord had spoken and that I would be appropriated as deacon in the assembly. First I was hesitant but then there appeared to be a spiritual capture, so I sort of nodded as a sign of affirmation. I am woman who puts on long dresses, the first thing I was guided to do was put on relatively shorter dresses, the logic behind that was mysterious but obviously that was a sexual connotation for seduction, which is a pillar for Lucy’s church. FACT.

The lady giving me instructions was a young lady, slightly above her twenties, same thing, seductive looks with extraordinary disagreeable attraction. One thing, never in your walk of faith ignore any red flag, if there are funny theatrics right from the word go, disappear and run for your dear life. I got embraced in the church and that was it. I was a “daughter” in the ministry. Days turned into weeks and months and so on.

My first encounter with the “Liberalism” concept was when Lucy openly tried to fix me in a sexual escapade with a guest Nigerian Evangelist accompanied with one of her aide’s in 2015.

After the usual Oracle services, as a deacon (senior church member) you have the prerogative of having an after service meeting to evaluate a few things as well as take time with a guest in case of any. After that particular service we walked out of Lucy’s Office and went to a private guest lounge, just within Six-eighty. We were 5 of us, Myself, the Nigerian Evangelist, one of her aides, her mom and the brother.

As it were, we had dinner and it was time to leave because I am a mom and wife. There was some form of resistance on any attempt to leave, any aim that suggested that I was leaving was met with some forms of tushughuli that did not make sense.Mara sijui “wait a minute for us to clear the bill”,oh “Hold on Mum is changing” among others. Within say 20 or so minutes I realized that Lucy had left together with her bro and mom, and I in the company of the pastor and the aide were left, little did I know that the girl was part of script for a Threesome. Hahaha,Yes I said a Threesome.

The Nigerian Con (Sexual predator) requested to have me get close to him so that we could have a prayer benediction and then leave as the rest had already left. I obliged because I was in a hurry to leave. Suddenly, From behind, the lady aide softly held my waist, we were a bit close in terms of acquaintanceship so I did not take offence.

However, the moment I was sandwiched between them, I knew this was not a prayer but something else, perhaps a plan to kill me, because the thought of a sexual encounter was far-fetched. How now? I became very aggressive, and threatened to scream if they did not get out of my way.

The moment both of them realized that I was not in the business of entertaining that nonsense, they simultaneously let go their arms and retreated to the seats. I uttered no word and left immediately traumatized. The final part and my redemption journey coming your way.

Sleeping with a 21 year old woman Doesn’t mean he deserves to be Killed ~ Femi Fani Kayode

The former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode has said that, The fact that the late Super TV CEO went to a hotel to sleep with a 21 year old woman does not mean he deserves to be butchered.

He wrote:

Mr. Usifo Ataga was butchered in cold blood.

The fact that he went to a hotel to sleep with a 21 year old woman does not mean he deserves to be butchered.

He was slaughtered and gutted like a barbecue pig in an abbatoir and his blood was drained simply because he has a high libido and a weakness for women.

Some people are now trying to rationalise his murder and justify it and they are claiming that he “deserved what he got!” This is utterly shameful.

This man was BUTCHERED in cold-blood by a cowardly, worthless, dangerous, conflicted, psychotic, drug-crazed, sociopathic, psychopathic, predatory, wicked, heartless prostitute and monstrous sex maniac who stole his money after cutting his throat and slicing open his stomach.

She watched him die slowly and probably enjoyed every minute of it as the demons in her rejoiced and screamed “hail satan!”.

This was a triumph for the devil and no-one else and the man was the victim whilst this heartless Dalilah and Jezebel that gutted him was the predator.

Mr. Ataga leaves behind his parents, his wife and his two beautiful children. Can you imagine what they must be ging through right now. Who will speak for him and who will fight for them? Who will ensure that justice is served?

The bitch from hell that murdered him deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest, convicted of first degree murder and hanged by the neck until she is dead according to the law.

She must pay the price for what she has done otherwise it will encourage others to do the same.

As far as I am concerned this feline creature is no better than a bloodlusting and bloodthirsty terrorist and I pray she burns in hell after she is hanged.

Permit me to end with the words of Mr. Igho David. He said,

“You should be praying for your son, your brother to get stabbed to death someday if they dare cheat on their wives, because you gave birth to saints including your mother, since death is the price to pay for cheating and since seeing other people’s brothers and son’s blood is what you enjoy seeing”.

I concur. May the soul of Mr. Ataga Usifo rest in peace.
