Imo State Lady, Ijeoma arrested for using menstrual blood to cook for her boyfriend

A lady identified as Ijeoma was arrested on Friday the 10th of January by IMO state police command for using her menstrual period to prepare food for her boyfriend. She denied the fact but when interrogated she confessed to have used it for 7 months so that her boyfriend won’t leave her.

Her boyfriend’s (Mr. Kingsley) statement

“I met Ijeoma 3 years ago. She was perfect but suddenly she started cheating on me and she engages in prostitution. Sometimes she would lie to me that she is traveling to her village but ends up in a Hotel with a man. One day I followed her and caught her in a Hotel with an old man but after begging me I forgave her because I love her so much. Most times my friends tell me to leave her but I can’t. I don’t know why. Just on Friday we had quarrel and fought, after the quarrel I overheard her speaking to someone on the phone about the quantity of the menstrual period she would use to prepare food for me. I heard everything that’s why I reported her to the police”

She denied the claims by her boyfriend Mr. Kingsley but when interrogated by the IPO she admitted to have used it for 7 months.

Her words

” I don’t use juju, I don’t know any native doctor. I love my boyfriend so much so I don’t want him to leave me.

A friend of mine told me that if I use my menses to prepare food for my boyfriend he would fall in love with me forever. I have done it for 7 months and it was working well. Please officer it’s not to kill him but to make him love me more.”

When asked if she engages in prostitution, she said;

” I do it once in a while. I use the money to train my two brothers at the university. I didn’t want to bother my boyfriend about their education so I engage in prostitution to train them”

The police public relation officer Mr. Andrew said

“We are still investigating into the matter and if her boyfriend wishes to charge her to court, we would give our appropriate support as demanded by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”

BREAKING: Alaafin clears the air on Mayegun title for Wasiu Ayinde

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, has broken his silence over the heated reactions generated by his statement over the Mayegun title he conferred on the fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde, stating that the context through which he made the statement should be understood.

Oba Olayiwola said he would not spit at Yoruba traditional institution by asking Ayinde to disrespect traditional rulers.

He, however, stressed that attitude of those he described as self-styled monarchs, caused him to restrict Ayinde from prostrating to some categories of traditional rulers.

He said he did not instruct Ayinde to see the likes of the Ooni of Ife, the Orangun of Ila, the Awujale of Ijebu-Ode, the Owa Obokun of Ilesa, the Alake of Egba and stretch his hands to them either in private or public gatherings.

“That would mean desecration of Yoruba culture and tradition which these first class royal fathers symbolise. There must always be an exception. But I am saying it with every sense of responsibility and authority conferred on the Alaafin institution that one who holds title from the Alaafin is found suitable for the title, hence the need for him to comport himself in such manner because the Mayegun title from the Alaafin is rooted with tradition,” he said.

Oba Adeyemi cautioned the public on the use of social media, saying the raging outburst recorded after his statement was a deliberate transfer of the clogged mindset of those who had an axe to grind with Ayinde for reasons best known to them, insisting that the fuji act merited the Mayegun title having distinguished himself as a focused musician who had improved himself on his trade since the beginning of his musical journey in the early 80s.

The Alaafin also revealed that Ayinde had made a request for the title 11 years ago during his visit to his palace in the company of his friends and associates.

He further revealed that he turned him down having made spiritual and physical consultations, all of which guided him against approving the title, saying, he only approved of it when the coast was clear, adding that there was no reason to waste time over it.

“When he asked for it 11 years ago, I consulted with my forefathers and the Oyomesi. They did not give consent to it, and I told him to return home. But when the time was ripe now, I made same consultations, and it was approved.

“Let it be known that the Alaafin is an institution which is bigger than an individual. I don’t do things unilaterally because I know the implication of such actions. I wrote a publication in 1975 titled Oyo tradition and Modernity. People should go and read it to know the status of Oyo in Yoruba nation.

“Whoever has any issue with Ayinde should find other ways to settle it. Social media should not be turned to a medium for vendetta,” Alaafin advised.

Lawyer Sues FG, CBN, AGF Over Arabic Inscription On Naira, Army Logo

Lawyer Sues FG, CBN, AGF Over Arabic Inscription On Naira, Army Logo

A Nigerian lawyer and Human Rights activist Barr. Malcolm Omirhobo has Thursday sued the Federal Government, Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Army, Ministry of Defense and Attorney General of the Federation over the continuous Arabic inscription on the naira notes and the flag of the Nigerian Army without considering Nigeria to be a secular nation.

He is seeking a Federal High Court to interpret the provisions of Section 10 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He filed two suits.

The defendants in the suits are Central Bank of Nigeria, Attorney-General of the Federation, the Nigerian Army, as well as the Ministry of Defence.

Plaintiff is seeking a court interpretation whether by a community reading of Sections 10 and 55 of the 1999 Constitution, it is lawful and constitutional for the defendants to permit the Naira notes to be adorned with Arabic inscriptions.

In the same vein, the plaintiff is asking whether by a community reading of Sections 1(1)(3), 10 and 55 of the 1999 Constitution, it is proper for the defendants to permit the Nigerian Army logo to be adorned, or inscribed in Arabic insignia.

He is seeking a court interpretation whether by the true letter and spirit of Section 10 of the 1999 Constitution, Nigeria is a secular state without any official religion.

He wants the court to declare that it is illegal, unlawful, and unconstitutional to allow the Nigerian Army logo to be adorned, and inscribed in Arabic language, instead of the official English language or Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo which are the three main languages or ethnic groups in Nigeria.

The defendants are yet to reply. The Court also is yet to fix a date for the hearing of the case.

FULL TEXT OF SPEECH OF DONALD TRUMP’S SPEECH

Remarks by President Donald Trump on Iran, released by the White House:

As long as I am President of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

Good morning. I’m pleased to inform you: The American people should be extremely grateful and happy no Americans were harmed in last night’s attack by the Iranian regime. We suffered no casualties, all of our soldiers are safe, and only minimal damage was sustained at our military bases.

Our great American forces are prepared for anything. Iran appears to be standing down, which is a good thing for all parties concerned and a very good thing for the world.

No American or Iraqi lives were lost because of the precautions taken, the dispersal of forces, and an early warning system that worked very well. I salute the incredible skill and courage of America’s men and women in uniform.

For far too long — all the way back to 1979, to be exact — nations have tolerated Iran’s destructive and destabilizing behavior in the Middle East and beyond. Those days are over. Iran has been the leading sponsor of terrorism, and their pursuit of nuclear weapons threatens the civilized world. We will never let that happen.

Last week, we took decisive action to stop a ruthless terrorist from threatening American lives. At my direction, the United States military eliminated the world’s top terrorist, Qasem Soleimani. As the head of the Quds Force, Soleimani was personally responsible for some of the absolutely worst atrocities.

He trained terrorist armies, including Hezbollah, launching terrorist strikes against civilian targets. He fueled bloody civil wars all across the region. He viciously wounded and murdered thousands of U.S. troops, including the planting of roadside bombs that maim and dismember their victims.

Soleimani directed the recent attacks on U.S. personnel in Iraq that badly wounded four service members and killed one American, and he orchestrated the violent assault on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. In recent days, he was planning new attacks on American targets, but we stopped him.

Soleimani’s hands were drenched in both American and Iranian blood. He should have been terminated long ago. By removing Soleimani, we have sent a powerful message to terrorists: If you value your own life, you will not threaten the lives of our people.

As we continue to evaluate options in response to Iranian aggression, the United States will immediately impose additional punishing economic sanctions on the Iranian regime. These powerful sanctions will remain until Iran changes its behavior.

In recent months alone, Iran has seized ships in international waters, fired an unprovoked strike on Saudi Arabia, and shot down two U.S. drones.

Iran’s hostilities substantially increased after the foolish Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2013, and they were given $150 billion, not to mention $1.8 billion in cash. Instead of saying “thank you” to the United States, they chanted “death to America.” In fact, they chanted “death to America” the day the agreement was signed.

Then, Iran went on a terror spree, funded by the money from the deal, and created hell in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Iraq. The missiles fired last night at us and our allies were paid for with the funds made available by the last administration. The regime also greatly tightened the reins on their own country, even recently killing 1,500 people at the many protests that are taking place all throughout Iran.

The very defective JCPOA expires shortly anyway, and gives Iran a clear and quick path to nuclear breakout. Iran must abandon its nuclear ambitions and end its support for terrorism. The time has come for the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Russia, and China to recognize this reality.

They must now break away from the remnants of the Iran deal -– or JCPOA –- and we must all work together toward making a deal with Iran that makes the world a safer and more peaceful place. We must also make a deal that allows Iran to thrive and prosper, and take advantage of its enormous untapped potential. Iran can be a great country.

Peace and stability cannot prevail in the Middle East as long as Iran continues to foment violence, unrest, hatred, and war. The civilized world must send a clear and unified message to the Iranian regime: Your campaign of terror, murder, mayhem will not be tolerated any longer. It will not be allowed to go forward.

Today, I am going to ask NATO to become much more involved in the Middle East process. Over the last three years, under my leadership, our economy is stronger than ever before and America has achieved energy independence. These historic accompliments [accomplishments] changed our strategic priorities. These are accomplishments that nobody thought were possible. And options in the Middle East became available. We are now the number-one producer of oil and natural gas anywhere in the world. We are independent, and we do not need Middle East oil.

The American military has been completely rebuilt under my administration, at a cost of $2.5 trillion. U.S. Armed Forces are stronger than ever before. Our missiles are big, powerful, accurate, lethal, and fast. Under construction are many hypersonic missiles.

The fact that we have this great military and equipment, however, does not mean we have to use it. We do not want to use it. American strength, both military and economic, is the best deterrent.

Three months ago, after destroying 100 percent of ISIS and its territorial caliphate, we killed the savage leader of ISIS, al-Baghdadi, who was responsible for so much death, including the mass beheadings of Christians, Muslims, and all who stood in his way. He was a monster. Al-Baghdadi was trying again to rebuild the ISIS caliphate, and failed.

Tens of thousands of ISIS fighters have been killed or captured during my administration. ISIS is a natural enemy of Iran. The destruction of ISIS is good for Iran, and we should work together on this and other shared priorities.

Finally, to the people and leaders of Iran: We want you to have a future and a great future — one that you deserve, one of prosperity at home, and harmony with the nations of the world. The United States is ready to embrace peace with all who seek it.

I want to thank you, and God bless America. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Agape Area Headquarters, MKO Abiola Estate, Lagos has it roof pulled down

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Agape Area Headquarters, MKO Abiola Estate, Lagos has it roof pulled down in early hours of Wednesday by angry residents.

The roof of the estate’s hall which the church was occupying was removed on orders of the president of the estate residents’ association, Adetokunbo Shittu.

The Redeemed Church and the residents of the area have been fighting over the church’s refusal to vacate the estate hall since 2017.

According to reports by Premium Times, the church has been using the hall since 1999 when the estate was built. But in 2017, the estate executives issued the church three notices to vacate the property , which was not complied with.

On Wednesday the conflict between the parties became worse after the roof of the estate hall was taken off .

Mrs Shittu, the Estate’ association

chairperson said that the decision was taken in the best interest of the community and its residents.

She said,

“The church has refused to vacate the hall and the estate is in need of the hall, so, we decided to start work on the hall.”

Sesan Oyebode, the pastor of the Redeemed church, in reaction said,

“If you must leave a property by force, it must follow due process. The court must give an injunction, they would get a bailiff and police officers to eject you from the place.”

“Before then, they would inform you to remove your things, it is when you refuse that the police can put your things outside, that is the legal way,” Mr Oyebode said, in a telephone conversation.

Mr Oyebode added it is improper for the president of such “a high-profile estate” to order the removal of the roof without following due process.

My Pastor husband wants to throw me out after abandoning me to marry new wife, 27years bedridden woman

A woman bedridden for 27 yrs, Mrs Ishola had cried for help to be saved from her pastor husband, Mr David Ishola who she said was threatening to throw her out of the house after taking another wife.

Mrs Ishola who is paralyzed in bed for years said her husband had been coming around to threaten her on the plan to throw her out of the house before he sells it.

Narrating her ordeal to our correspondent, the former caterer said her challenge started when she gave birth to her last born.

According to her, she was recuperating until her husband forcefully slept with her again and conceived a pregnancy.

“The pregnancy in that situation made me went into a total paralysis.

I met Mr. David Ishola Samuel in 1979 when he came to Benin for a contract and we both came back to Lagos as man and wife.

Then I just finished secondary School and wanted to further my education which my father told him but he assured us that he will put me in School immediately we get back to Lagos. I was not put in school as he said because his people said that will not happen until I was pregnant. I got pregnant in 1980 and gave birth to a girl (Yemisi) and then was enrolled into a catering school to learn catering service. In the same year, things picked up for both of us. We bought a piece of land in Dopemu Area of Lagos State. Work started in earnest on the land and a storey building (2 flats up and the ground floor

used for his business) was erected and we moved in there in1982.

Between 1981 and 1985, I already had four (4) children and I had been in different businesses/ contracts of catering jobs.

In April 1986, we had our court wedding in Ikeja Marriage Registry. In July

1987 I had my fifth child and that was when everything fell apart. On the 8th day which was naming ceremony, my husband’s brother came and asked me of the baby’s names which I told him, then to my surprise, he brought out some currencies, rather than give it to me in my hands, he placed them on my forehead and told me that was money for the baby. I never got myself back since then. By the next morning, my head became very heavy, I was walking sluggishly that my mother (who was around then) was alarmed, because I couldn’t explain what was happening. My husband was advised that I should be taken to the hospital where I put to bet in Randle Avenue, Surulere but he declined, that he was late for his appointment and rather dropped me in a nearby hospital where they were busy pumping me with drips and medicine, rather than getting better, my health became worsened to the extent that though I was awake, I didn’t hear or feel anything at all. It was so bad that my late father had to come to Lagos and took me back to Benin. To the glory of God, I came back to life few days later but was now on wheel chair. I stayed in Benin from July 1987 to January 1988 when I had to come back to Lagos due to pressures from my husband and the fact that my children were still too young. But on my arrival, the family members waged war against me, saying I was the only one enjoying my husband. Shortly after this, my husband joined them and started maltreating me.

Despite the fact that I was on wheel chair then, I engaged in several businesses successfully, until my husband decided to destroy some of them. For instance, When we rented a house in Gowon Estate, Egbeda, I noticed that there was water scarcity so i took a loan and

bought a water tank and started selling water, but later, he made issues with it and the

business flopped. I also took into poultry business, selling both eggs and fowls. At a time he started giving both eggs and fowls out to his friends. Later when I confronted him, he decided to poison over 400 fowls and the business also collapsed. I also engaged in businesses like Kerosine sales, vegetable oil. At a time, despite my condition, I became the major distributor for Coy oil company. When Coy Oil wanted to fold up, i was offered to buy it at the cost of N6million but my husband refused saying that there was no money even though we had a landed property that we could have used as collateral for bank loan then, so i lost out.

I was also into cow meat business, I used to buy a whole cow, kill and shared it into 16 parts and people would buy them off me. It used to be N4000 but now N10000.

On the house that Mrs Ishola claimed her husband was planning to sell, she narrated that “

We bought the land in Gowon Estate between 1990 /1992, built it and moved in1994. I was doing very well in my business and was also supporting him as

best as i could to the extent that everything to do with the home front was left to me including the children’s schooling. I didn’t mind then, after all my business was successful and i felt i was supporting my husband but i was too naive to understand that he was just taking advantage of my innocence and blind trust to exploit me and dodge his responsibilities to us.

I also went into Ankara materials sales, going to the factory in Kaduna where i would print my own designs, bring them back to Lagos. But my husband would take one design each and make for himself without payment. It got so bad that he would take and sew for his friends and business colleagues without payment and whenever I asked him for money his usual response was “because you want to make profit, we will not eat and wear cloth?”

Later we bought another piece of land, but when i travelled to Benin, my husband had sold off the land before I returned without prior information, and the money was nowhere to

be found or accounted for.

He paid an initial deposit for another piece of land but later decided not to buy it, he said i can go and pay it off for myself. When i got to the seller’s office, i asked them to change the name on the receipt to mine, since i am the one that wanted to pay for it but they refused, saying that it’s

only my husband that can give them such directive. My husband promised to go and rectify it on several occasions but he never did, so for us not to lose out completely, i paid for the land.

In 1997 he forced himself into me and I got pregnant, that was 10 years after my last born. He did everything for me

to terminate the pregnancy but I refused and had a girl who is now a 200 level student of Economics in UNILAG. From infancy till now, he has not spent a dime on that child just because I refused to abort the pregnancy.

As I speak with you, my husband still retained our flat in the first building, he turned his office space there to a church.

Currently he has taken one of his church members that he impregnated as wife.

He left me and the six (6) children in the house in Gowon Estate for over a decade. I had to take a loan to build shops in front of the house and rent out, the proceed is what I use to pay the children’s schools fees and other sundry bills. Due to lack of funds, I couldn’t continue with my physiotherapy exercise, so now, I am practically either on my back or stomach, because I cant do anything from my waist down. I wear catheter, and adult pampers, I suffer from bed zones all the time but God has been faithful despite my condition.

I still do little businesses here and there, buy and tie garri, sugar and groundnut. I sell cold pure water, both in bags and pet bottles. I still kill cow yearly for those that want to buy and I have a catering outfit too that handles event for people. I am not a lazy person. My husband has come to evict people from the shops outside saying that I was collecting money and spending it alone.

Now, my husband is threatening to chase me out. He does not want anyone to visit me. He wanted me to die in sorrow and depression while living in peace with his second wife and children. Nigerians should please safe me from him.”

Meanwhile, the first son of the family, Kola Ishola, while speaking with our correspondent said “All what my mother narrated were the truth. I had to step it at a stage and asked him what our mother did which called for the punishment he subjected him with her condition. Instead of saying anything, he would scold me and chased me away. He never responsible for our tuition fee till I graduated from UNILAG.

Currently, he has been coming around to threaten that he would throw mummy out with her condition and also sell this house. This is the house that was bought by our mummy. He has abandoned us here for many years now with a new wife in our former house that he and mummy built.”

However, when contacted on phone, Mr Ishola said he knew nobody bearing Mrs Sandra Ishola. He also said he wouldn’t want to speak on the matter.

OAU Graduate, Moyinoluwa Adeyemi, Built An Android Watch That Tells Time In Yoruba Language

Moyinoluwa Adeyemi studied Computer Science from Obafemi Awolowo University, she is now a Software Engineer at Swifta Systems and also a co-organizer at Google Developers Group.

One Friday evening after work, she had an aha moment. She looked at a clock and thought “What if it could tell the time in Yoruba?”. That question has lead to the development of an Android Watch Face that tells time in Yoruba language.

It wasn’t simple as a,b,c, she had to get ideas from some of her friends and do extensive research before she came up with a working prototype. It will probably be the first ever indigenous watch face app on the google play store.

Yoruba Watch Faces by Moyin is a collection of Watch Faces built in a popular local Nigerian dialect. There are currently two Watch Faces in the collection both of which are in Yoruba Language. The illustrations were created by @TheVunderkind and they depict a man and a woman dressed in the traditional Yoruba attire.
