Terrorists Can’t Attack My Church, I Will Tear Them Into Pieces — Oyedepo
General overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo has continued condemning the attack on a church in Owo, Ondo State by gunmen, saying his church cannot be attacked.
Gunmen killed no less than 40 persons during an attack on St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State on June 5.
Oyedepo had earlier last week joined the public in condemning the incident.
However, at the church’s headquarters on Sunday, he dared terrorists to come to his church and see what becomes of them.
“Since these wicked devils showed up in Nigeria, not once have they succeeded to do havoc in our church. Not once!” He said.
“There is no madness that does not recognise fire. This is not by mouth, this is Jesus in the midst of His people. Can you imagine a dog going to rob a lion’s house?
“They say where are you going? He said I am a mad dog, I am going to deal with that lion today. Have you seen that before? They saw a banner and they said this is fire. Till Jesus returns, no demonic Fulani, no Islamite will enter our church.
“If they don’t die at entry, I am not sent by God. Under this covering, as ordained by God, come to church and relax, let me see that devil who will dare your coming in or going out. Look up, the lion is here. He will tear you to pieces.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected the primaries which produced Godswill Akpabio as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Akwa Ibom…
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected the primaries which produced Godswill Akpabio as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district.
Akpabio, who stepped down for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the ruling party, at the convention of the ruling party, was declared winner of a senatorial primary conducted on Thursday.
The State APC Chairman, Mr Stephen Ntukekpo, had said he was directed by the party at the national level to carry out a re-run over alleged infractions.
According to the result of the rerun senatorial primary election, Akapbio emerged winner with 478 votes, while DIG Ekpo Udom (rtd), who won the first primary, secured just three votes.
But speaking with Daily Trust in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, on Sunday, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Akwa Ibom State, Mr Mike Igini, said the commission would only recognise the winner of the primaries monitored by INEC.
He denied the claim that the commission monitored the re-run APC senatorial primaries, where Akpabio emerged winner.
“The primaries was concluded on the 27th of last month, so I don’t know what you are talking about. The one that was conducted was monitored by INEC and the report has been submitted to Abuja.
“INEC is not aware of any senatorial primaries conducted on Thursday (June 9) that was monitored by INEC, none,” he stated.
The REC also affirmed that the APC has no governorship candidate in the state, saying the governorship primary where Mr Akanimo Udofia emerged winner was not monitored by INEC.

I Won In Kaduna On Muslim-Muslim Ticket, Politics Is Not Religious Business – El-Rufai
Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, says the “fixation” of Nigerians on the religion of political office holders is “pathetic and sad”.
El-Rufai spoke on Friday in an interview with Channels Television.
With the election of presidential candidates of political parties, there have been concerns about the religion of the candidates and their intended running mates.
Since the two major political parties — All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) — have Muslim presidential candidates, many people, including the Christian Association of Nigeria have asked that their running mates should be Christians.
Asked to react to the speculation of a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket in the APC, the Kaduna governor said the business of governance has nothing to do with religion.
He added that religion will not solve the problems of Nigeria, adding it is the competency of the elected leaders that will solve the problems.
“I don’t look at people from the lens of Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian, some of my closest friends are Christians,” he said.
“It was Pastor Tunde Bakare, a pentecostal pastor, who took me to CPC, not President Muhammadu Buhari. I’m very close to Pastor Bakare. I’m very close to many Christians.
“I don’t think the business of governance has to do with religion. I think we should look for the best person for the job. The person who will get the job done.
“I’m the wrong person to ask that question because in my state I picked a very competent and qualified woman as my running mate in the 2019 elections.
“But just because she happens to be a Muslim, people were calling it Muslim-Muslim ticket and they said we are going to lose. We didn’t. We won overwhelmingly.
“This fixation of Nigerians with religion instead of competence, capacity and capability is quite sad and pathetic and I urge you as the media to take religion out of governance.
I Am Proud Of Getting Zero Votes At The APC Primary – Pastor Tunde Bakare
Addressing a press conference at his Church on Sunday, Bakare, who had in 2019 said God told him he would succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, said he wears his zero vote with confidence
According to him, he remains fulfilled despite the zero votes because he did not compromise his values tailored towards a new Nigeria.
He said the emergence of Tinubu as the party’s candidate is a testament to his “significant contribution to to course of the South West and his labour towards the formation and establishment of the APC.”
Bakare while saying he remains “audaciously confident” that a new Nigeria is possible prayed God to bless the country with a leader that is not in love with money but justice and a leader not in love with publicity but humanity.”
“I therefore send best wishes to him as he proceeds to the campaign train towards the 2023 general elections,” he said
