APC Is More Corrupt Than PDP – Atiku Claims

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress is more corrupt than the Peoples Democratic Party, as of the time it was in charge of the country.

He revealed this in an interview with Voice of America, part of which he shared on his Twitter handle on Sunday.

When told that people also accused the PDP of corruption at the time it was ruling, Atiku responded, “But we have come to realise that the APC is even more corrupt than PDP.”

Asked how he will convince voters to support PDP again, he said, “Well, I will remind them of the prosperity that the PDP brought to the country between 1999-2007 and then also the poverty, the insecurity, the instability that the APC has brought to the country since they came into office.”

The People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku has said that former president Obasanjo’s image should be on redesigned naira note

One of the three naira notes that are set to be redesigned, according to Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, should have the portrait of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

“If for nothing else, he is most deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize, and I will nominate him when entries are open for nominations.
“Africa is blessed to have a statesman of such impeccable democratic credentials as Chief Obasanjo. A man whose image ought to be in the redesigned Naira note to inspire future generations of Nigerians to sacrifice for their nation and continent,” Part of the statement reads.

It Doesn’t Make Sense Anymore” RCCG G.O Knocks FG Over Naira Redesign

2023 Election: God Hasn’t Spoken To Me On Forthcoming Elections – RCCG G.O

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has stated that God has not yet revealed whether or not there will be elections in the nation in 2023.

With only three months until the general elections, many political parties’ and candidates’ campaigns have gained traction.

The eminent clergyman made this claim on Friday while preaching at the church’s monthly “Holy Ghost Service” event in the church’s camp for those seeking redemption.

Speaking to his audience, Adeboye bemoaned the situation of the country and said he didn’t mean to alarm people, but he did point out that God hasn’t told him whether the general elections in 2023 will take place.

He said, “I have not been told anything about next year’s election by God.”

In the midst of the yet-to-come prophecy from God, Pastor Adeboye further clarified that he is a pastor and not a prophet, insisting that God alone determines what transpires after he prays. He also noted that he prayed for everyone who approached him seeking for prayers.

“My duty is to pray. I pray for anyone who comes to me for prayers. It is left for God to decide what happens.”

Ogun State PDP Faction Suspends Governorship Aspirant, Four Others

The Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday, announced the suspension of its governorship aspirant, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, the acting Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Akinlabi, State Secretary, Hon. Sunday Solarin, state publicity secretary, Mr. Akinloye Bankole, and Ogun East senatorial chairman, Arc. Kayode Adebayo, on the ground that they acted in flagrant disobedience of the subsisting court judgement which produced the current executives of the party, thereby, betraying the terms of settlement entered by the two warring factions in the state.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday and co-signed by the Financial Secretary and Assistant State Treasurer of the party, Hon. Bola Odumosu, and Mrs. Akibu Oriyomi (a.k.a Irorun) respectively, the party said the suspended members were found guilty of contravening the terms of settlement entered in the consent judgement that birthed the current executives of the party in the state.

Aside that, they were also speculated to have connived with some individuals within the party to control the delegates’ list used in engaging in the primary election of the party in Ogun State which consequently led to the multiple court judgements nullifying the party’s primary elections in the state; a situation that reportedly led to the party not having candidates for the 2023 general election unless the courts come to the rescue of the party.

The statement partly read, “It is a known fact that the current executives of our party in Ogun State are a product of the consent judgement which was obtained after both parties (Adebutu & Kashamu faction) agreed to the terms of settlement.

Clearly, a part of the judgement indicating security of tenure reads that, ‘The parties agree that persons nominated into positions in the Ogun state executive committee in pursuant to these terms of settlement SHALL NOT be REMOVED or SUSPENDED until the expiration of the term of the current Executive Committee of the PDP in Ogun State in April, 2024.

“To our greatest surprise, some lawless individuals gathered themselves to announce the suspension of members in doing the bid of their paymaster. This is totally against the position of the terms of settlement.

“Also, these bad eggs connived with an aspirant of the party to manipulate the delegates’ list used during the primary elections which led to the nullification of all the elections, leaving our party with no candidates as of now, despite the short period to election.

“This is absurd, senseless and unacceptable. We have never had it this bad in the Ogun PDP. They will soon be cited for contempt of court having acted in flagrant disobedience of existing court judgments and orders.

“In the light of the foregoing and having been found culpable of acts capable of threatening the peace and unity of the party, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, Hon. Taiwo Akinlabi, Hon. Sunday Solarin, Mr. Akinloye Bankole & Arc. Kayode Adebayo are hereby suspended for a period of 30 days. They are to appear before the State Disciplinary Committee of the party to explain why their suspension should not translate to expulsion on or before the expiration of the one-month suspension.”

Lekki Tollgate: Use Of ‘Massacre’ Highly Debatable – Obi’s Running Mate, Baba-Ahmed

The vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has said that it is debatable to describe the shooting that took place at the Lekki Tollgate in 2020 as a “massacre.”

He, however, said that the incident was a violation of procedure and an abuse of human rights.

Baba-Ahmed made this known on Thursday during an interview on Channels TV’s ‘Politics Today’.

When asked if he aligns with those who described and believe that the events of that night was a massacre, Baba-Ahmed said, “There was abuse of human rights, there was abuse of procedure, if some people interpret those as massacre, then yes. However, massacre has different technical meanings, I can’t say I know all of it but I know massacre requires the assailants to have, first of all, no advance notice was given before the attack and the people, the victims must have been attacked in their own areas.

“These are well-meaning Nigerians, who brought themselves out and they were attacked by the security persons that are meant to be protecting their lives and properties. The use of massacre is highly debatable, but I can say for sure that yes, there were abuses of procedure and there were civil rights violations.”

APC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BOLA TINUBU NOT FIT OR PREPARED FOR PRESIDENCY – DINO MELAYE

The spokeperson PDP presidential Campaign management committee SENATOR DINO MELAY has said that the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu is not fit for presidency

“The APC presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, plunged into new depths of desecration when by an unguarded and unrelated flow of thought he despised the body of Christ by profaning the sacrament of communion and besmirched the church.

In the same breath he trivialised the existential threat that climate change poses to humanity.

Furthermore, he fell out of tune with world leaders in ways that betrayed a lack of understanding of what the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Called the “Fierce Urgency of Now”.

Having overlooked Christians in his choice of a running mate, he further rubbed insult on injury by calling in the Holy Communion into an unrelated conversation. It would have been honourable for Tinubu to simply admit that he didn’t know what climate change is. Again, that exposed his limited understanding and poor preparation for governance. Any leader of any great nation who does not understand the basics of climate change, especially with the ongoing flooding in Nigeria and the economic conflict arising from farmers and herders, has no business aspiring to lead our dear country at this moment.

Besides, Nigerians who have been in doubt about the presence of mind and the physiological capacity of Tinubu to preside over the affairs of Nigeria should now be convinced that he is not fit. For a moment, his thought processes tripped and he launched into another issue entirely. Nigerians could imagine if what happened in Kaduna had happened on the world stage. As I said earlier, Nigerians can not afford to gamble with the next election.

An Atiku presidency will not only be at home with global issues anywhere and anytime. He would build bridges and partnerships to address contemporary and emerging issues with pace, purpose and patience. He will collaborate with others to contain the causes and effects of climate change and more importantly, he will work for structures that will help Nigeria to build the resilience and adaptation to climate change, particularly in climate smart agriculture and other strategic initiatives.”
