Pastor Sacked By Oyedepo’s Church Files Lawsuit, Demands N350M Compensation For Damages

Domino Mbang, a pastor who was disregarded as the area pastor of Living Faith Church (aka Winners’ Chapel) in Palm Street Assembly, Atakpa, Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State, has filed a lawsuit to challenge his dismissal.

Mbang dragged the church before the National Industrial Court in Calabar, seeking N350m in damages.

The cleric, who claims to be a graduate of mathematics and statistics, University of Calabar, alleged persecution from some persons in the church.

In suit No: NICN/CA/25/2022 between Mbang as claimant and the presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide Incorporated, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor Adebisi Aboluwade and two other defendants, the applicant said he went to court to seek redress and to enable the authorities of the church to know how he was treated.

He said, “I was a member of the church for over a decade before training to become a pastor. At least, I have spent more than two decades in the ministry, that alone makes me a son to our general overseer, Bishop David Oyedepo.”

Mbang, who claimed to be an area pastor with 16 branches of the church in Calabar South under his auspices, stated that he was unlawfully sacked by a cabal made up of Pastor Tamunotoye Chukunda and the state pastor Adeolu Adewumi.

“According to the church Operational Mandate, before a pastor is sacked, he would first be queried with a letter and made to appear before a disciplinary committee to answer pertinent questions and thereafter be issued with three warnings before he can be issued a termination of appointment letter. In my case, nothing of such happened.

“Apart from the query that was issued, what followed immediately was a sacked letter without availing me the opportunity to appear before any disciplinary panel. The cabals headed by Pastor Adeolu and Pastor Chukunda connived and kicked out without following due process.

“The Mandate Book serves like a constitution of the organization, unfortunately it was never followed, probably because they didn’t like my face.

“Both of them cannot claim to be more of Bishop Oyedepo’s God sons than myself, we are all his children in the lord. No query letter was served to me. The only letter given to me by the cabals was a sacked letter and for a year now my salary has been stopped.

“As I speak to you, I can’t even pay my children school fees nor pay my rent, or afford food, clothing and medicine for my kids,” Mbang lamented.

However, an official of the church denied all the allegations.

“A query was served to him because of the way he was misbehaving. We are a responsible organisation, we couldn’t have sacked a man of God in the manner which he claimed,” the official told Leadership newspaper.

The case will be heard on October 26.

“Prosperity Gospel Has Damaged a lot of Human Beings” ~Benny hinn

“I think it’s an offence to the Lord, it’s an offence to say give $1,000. I think it’s an offence to the Holy Spirit to place a price on the Gospel.”

“I’m done with it. I will never again ask you to give $1,000 or whatever amount, because I think the Holy Ghost is just fed up with it.”

“What was troubling is the mentioning of amounts connected to some blessing that should come back just because you gave.”

“It just got out of hand; give a thousand to get whatever, a hundredfold. I, myself, said [those things] and my heart was saying different.”

“What if that hundredfold never came back? What does that do to their faith? What does it do to his future and her future? And then, if it doesn’t come, that life is damaged,”

“I’ve had people come to me and say, ‘please, don’t say it again, it’s not working in my life.””

“Sometimes you dismiss it, other times you just don’t know what to say or do. But, it has damaged a lot of people.”

“How long do I have on this earth? What am I going to do in the next twenty years? That is for me to decide.”

“I want to make sure that the next 15-20 years of my life, that my message is the cross. The real call on my life.”

“I want to be known for that. I don’t want to be known as the prosperity teacher.”

“Prosperity is one thing in the Bible, there’s a whole lot more in the Word of God than prosperity but it’s become a major issue now because of the gimmickry involved in it. That needs to stop.”

Hijab: Iranian Islamic Morality Police Murdered 22 Year old Mahsa Amini Over Wearing Of Hijab

“Protests have broken out at the funeral of a female who died after being arrested by Iran’s morality police.

Mahsa Amini, 22, died on Friday, days after eyewitnesses said she was beaten in a police van in Tehran – allegations denied by police.

Some women at the ceremony reportedly removed their headscarves in protest at the compulsory wearing of hijabs.

Mourners chanted “loss of life to the dictator”, with videos showing police later firing on a crowd.

The funeral took place in Ms Amini’s hometown, Saqez, in the western province of Kurdistan.

According to videos posted on social media, locals gathered very early in the morning to prevent Iranian safety forces speeding via the burial in secret to keep away from protests.

Reports suggested that a few angry protesters marched towards the local governor’s office to protest about the death. According to videos received, the security forces opened fire on protesters.

There were also reports of injuries and arrests. In videos published on Twitter, security forces can be seen guarding the governor’s office and arresting protesters trying to get close to the building.

A picture of Ms Amini’s gravestone was published on social media. It reads: “You didn’t die. Your name will be a code [rallying call].”

Ms Amini was arrested on Tuesday by the morality police for allegedly not complying with the strict dress code on head coverings.

According to eyewitnesses, she was beaten while inside a police van and slipped into a coma later.

Iranian police denied the allegations, saying she had “suffered a sudden heart failure”.

Ebrahim Raisi, Iran’s hardline president, has asked the ministry of the interior to launch an investigation into the death.

Kasra Hospital in Northern Tehran said in a statement that Ms Amini was admitted on 13 September showing “no vital signs”.

The statement was later removed from the hospital’s social media after hardline social media accounts accused hospital staff of being “anti-regime agents”. “

“Stop Forcing Ladies To Cover Their Hair – Pastor Kumuyi Warns Ushers In His Church

“Stop Forcing Ladies To Wear Compulsory Head Coverings

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor W.F Kumuyi, has told ushers in his church to stop making the wearing of head coverings by ladies in his church a compulsion because too much wearing of such causes heat and odour.

Kumuyi made this known in a sermon shared on the Facebook page of his church, the Ekiti branch.

His words, “Somebody is coming to our church for the first time. And she happens to be a female not covering her head. We ask the person to cover her head before coming in. We don’t know whether the person does not even know God. We confront her out there before she even enters the church. We don’t know if she does not know how to pray or prophesy. But we impose rules on her.

“If I were the person, I would marvel what kind of church is this? If they treat me like a primary school girl, that will be my last time coming to the church.”

The clergyman stated that because of persistent covering, there will be “heat in the hair and it will emit odour,”

He went on to lament that some women have stopped making themselves presentable to their husbands simply because they are now married.

Kumuyi said, “There are some women who are not attractive to their husbands. Some believe since they are married they are no longer obligated to look good before their husband. There are single sisters that are not presentable.

“If I don’t tell you maybe nobody will tell you. There are some wives who dress shabbily and are no longer attractive to the man. There are some single sisters that are not presentable. Anybody who is looking for the will of God may not be attracted to them.

The Bible says every woman that pray or prophesies. The reason why you are covering is either you are praying or prophesying.”
