Nasarawa State Govt Empowers 50 Women With 2 Goats Each

Nasarawa State has empowered 50 female goatherds with 100 goats to enhance their economic independence and to contribute to the growth and development of the state.
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Aisha Rufa’i-Ibrahim, presented the goats to the beneficiaries in Lafia on Wednesday.

She said the gesture further demonstrated government’s determination to empower women to enhance their capacity and socio-economic statuses.

She explained that the empowerment became expedient after the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs had trained the women in animal husbandry in collaboration with the state government.

“On Oct. 14, all of you participated in training on animal husbandry to equip you with the knowledge and skills to rear and manage goats within your environment.

“After the training, the ministry felt it was necessary to support you to practice the knowledge and skills you acquired at the training,’’ she told the beneficiaries.

Rufa’i-Ibrahim said the state government was committed to ensuring the success of the programme and enjoined the beneficiaries to reciprocate government’s gesture by rearing the animals.

“This way, government will be encouraged to commit more resources to expand the programme so that others can benefit,’’ she said.

A Nigerian man triggered a stir in one of the new-generation banks when he went to deposit $500,000, approximately N200 million.

The photograph of the unidentified man circulated on social media has left many asking ‘God when.’

The photograph was taken in an unknown financial institution in Nigeria and has left many bewildered about why such an amount of dollars would be hoarded or kept by an individual.

is not clear if the person had violated the money laundering act as Nigeria grapples with dollar scarcity which previously led to the crash of the naira.

A foreign money trader in Lagos, Ishaya Abdul, said that currently, there are so many dollars in the market. He said many forex traders are disposing of the dollars as the purported threats by the US swirl around. He said: “What is happening now is that most FX traders are releasing the dollars they have hoarded in the past. Right now, the dollar is crashing very fast.”

“I Stand With Charles Soludo’ – Actress Chioma Declares, Slams Peter Obi

“I Stand With Charles Soludo’ – Actress Chioma Ifemeludike Declares Support For Soludo, Slams Peter Obi

Nollywood actress Chioma Ifemeludike has declared her support for the present governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo over his attack on Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Recall that Soludo in an open letter had said Peter Obi can’t win the forthcoming elections. Soludo also talked down on the supposed huge investment made by Obi during his time as Anambra State governor.

Part of his letter reads: “My attention has been drawn to some of the tirades on social media following my frank response during an interview on Channels TV regarding the “investments” Mr. Peter Obi claimed to have made with Anambra state revenues. Sadly, several of the comments left the issue of the interview to probe or suggest motives, inferred from my response on “investment” that I am opposed to Peter Obi’s ambition and therefore committed a “crime” for which the punishment is internecine abuse and harassment even to my family. Some people even suggest that the gunmen who went to attack a checkpoint at my hometown on Saturday 12th November but were gunned down was part of the mob reaction. I used to think that for decent people, certain conducts are off-limits, and that in Anambra, politics is not warfare.

Of course, as a Christian, I know that telling the truth can be very costly, even suicidal. Our Lord and saviour was crucified simply for telling the truth the people did not want to hear. I promised that I won’t be the usual politician, and will not knowingly lie to the people. I am not an Angel but rather than knowingly repeat the same deceitful character that politicians are known for, I would leave public office. It is a vow I made to my God and to my family. Only God knows how many days I will be on this seat but whether I am on it or not I will always say it as it is – knowing fully the suicidal consequences of telling the truth in a political arena, especially in a country where lying and deceit by politicians have become culture and celebrated as being “smart.”

On her part, Chioma Ifemeludike declared her support for Soludo via her Instagram page where she wrote: “‘I stand with Charles Soludo. The governor of Anambra state may not be my favourite person right now but I respect him for speaking up even in the most difficult and tough situation. How can a person who worked, canvassed and participated in the most corrupt political party in Africa for years suddenly become a saint? we cant continue with lies.”

Lawyer Sues Tinubu Over Alleged Certificate Forgery, Age Falsification

Lawyer Sues Tinubu Over Alleged Certificate Forgery, Age Falsification

A legal practitioner and human rights activist, Mike Enahoro-Ebah, has instituted legal actions against the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, over alleged certificate forgery, age falsification and lying on oath.

The suits, dated 9th November and filed on the 10th, by Enahoro-Ebah were brought pursuant to Sections 88(1), 89(3), 109(A), 110(C) and 115(1)(B) and 119 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), 2015; under the inherent jurisdiction and powers of the court secured by Section 6(6)(a) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

The three separate direct criminal complaints marked: CR/121/2022, CR/122/2022 and CR/123/2022 against Tinubu were filed at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Wuse Zone 6, Abuja.

He said it is in the best interest of Nigeria, justice and equity to issue criminal summons to ensure Tinubu’s attendance in court to answer the complaints.

Specifically, the complainant is alleging that Tinubu lied on oath having falsely sworn to an affidavit in support of his personal particulars (Form EC-9) submitted to INEC on June 17, 2022.

In case number: CR/121/2022, Enahoro-Ebah accused Tinubu of presenting “A forged Chicago State University Certificate to INEC with the intent that it may be acted upon as genuine, thereby committed the offence of forgery contrary to Sections 362(a), 363 and 364 of the Penal Code Act, Cap. 532, Laws of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja”.

Enahoro-Ebah alleged that Bola Tinubu that attended Chicago State University was born in 1954 and not 1952 as claimed by the APC presidential candidate on oath in his sworn Form EC-9 submitted to INEC.
He alleged that the copy of the Chicago State University Certificate released by the school “is radically different” from the copy attached to Tinubu’s sworn Form EC-9 submitted to INEC on June 17.

The complainant said he applied, through his colleague, Mathew J. Kowals, a Chicago-based legal practitioner, who issued an attorney subpoena on his behalf against the university in case number: 22-L-007289 on August 12, directing the school to mail him (Kowals) all documents and records pertaining to Tinubu in their possession.

According to the lawyer, copies of the Chicago State University Certificate, academic records, undergraduate admission application form, University of Cambridge General Certificate of Education, and copy of Southwest College Transcript (now City College of Chicago) were later sent to him which he attached to the court documents as exhibits.

“Curiously, the information contained in the documents and school records received from Chicago State University contradicts material information provided by the defendant in his sworn Form EC-9 submitted to INEC,” he said.

Enahoro-Ebah claimed that a direct comparison of both certificates reveal different dates of issue by the university (June 22, 1979, and June 27, 1979); different university logos on both certificates; different grammatical construction on the faces of the certificates, and different signatures, among others.

He said in support of the defendant’s undergraduate admission application form submitted to Chicago State University in 1977, was a transcript from Southwest College, Chicago, bearing the name, “Tinubu Bola A” which belongs to a female student, contrary to Form EC-9 submitted to INEC which indicated that Tinubu is a man.

More so, Enahoro-Eba that the Tinubu that attended the university indicated in his undergraduate admission application form that he graduated from Government College, Lagos in 1970, while the defendant in his Form EC-9 submitted to INEC provided no information as to his attendance of the said Government College, Lagos, among other allegations.

The case, which is before Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna, is yet to be fixed for hearing.

Peter Obi Dragged To Court for Allegedly Involving Toddler In Political Rally

A Child rights activist, Amb. Wale Ojo-Lanre, has slammed a lawsuit on the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, for allegedly involving an underage girl in his political rally in Lagos state. It was reported that he demanded for N50 millin (Fifty Million Naira) in damages in the originating motion on notice filed on October 27 before a family court in Ikeja High Court.

Ojo-Lanre joined the Labour Party, Queen (mother of the underage), Federal Republic of Nigeria and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) as respondents in the suit marked ID/6332GCM/2022.

The petitioner is seeking an award of N50 million damages against the first, second and third respondents for the violation of the child rights of the underage girl-child.

According to him, it is illegal, misleading, unlawful, exploitative and abusive for the presidential candidate to post the picture and video of the toddler via his Twitter handle dated October 2 to refer to her as “a poster child.”

He said, “The first defendant allowed participation and usage of a toddler in an adult political rally, which took place on the street of Lagos on October 1.

“This is contrary to Sections 29 and 33 of the Child Rights Act of Lagos State and Article 36 of the United Nations Convention of the Rights of Children, 1981.

“We seek an order for the first and second respondents to delete their respective tweets and several other posts on their social media accounts in reference to the underage girl-child.

“We also seek an order mandating the fourth and fifth respondents to withdraw the toddler from the care and custody of the third respondent.

“We are seeking court order to foster the child to any welfare home under the accreditation and supervision of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs or other appropriate authorities for proper care, education, protection and upbringing until she turns 18 years.

“In addition, we seek an order to disqualify the second respondent from participating in the 2023 presidential election for condoning, adopting, encouraging and allowing the usage of the toddler for his rally.”

The activist also begged the court to bar the first, second and third respondents from uploading, circulating and printing the picture of the toddler both online and offline.

Meanwhile, a date for hearing has not been fixed.

2023: Peter Obi knows He Can’t Win; He’s Only Playing a Game -Soludo

Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo has declared that Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi will not win the 2023 election.

Soludo said this on Monday in an article titled ‘History beckons and I will not be silent (Part 1)’.

Let’s be clear: Peter Obi knows that he can’t and won’t win. He knows the game he is playing, and we know too; and he knows that we know,” the article reads in part.

“The game he is playing is the main reason he didn’t return to APGA. The brutal truth (and some will say, God forbid) is that there are two persons/parties seriously contesting for president: the rest is exciting drama!

“That many Americans may not like the fact that Joe Biden (79 years) and Donald Trump (76 years) are two frontrunners for president in their parties does not remove the fact that if both of them emerge as candidates, definitely one of them will be president in 2024.

“As my brother, I wish him well and even pray for him. I told him during his courtesy call that my prayer is that himself or Prof Umeadi of APGA would win, why not?

“That is from my heart, but I also told him that my head and facts on the ground led me to know that it’s probability is next to zero (what I cannot say before you, I won’t say behind you).

“So I already told him my opinion. Indeed, there is no credible pathway for him near the first two positions, and if care is not taken, he won’t even near the third position.
